Food and drink on Princess cruises?
1. Are all meals included in the price of a Princess cruise?
2. If so is it limited to a set 3 meals a day or is there an option or unlimited food or snacks?
3. Are any drinks included on the price?
4. Are drinks prices expensive?
I'm looking at the Alaska cruises but not sure what the best option would be, has anyone been on any of these cruises to recommend?
let me start off that alaska cruises are amazing! it is something that everyone should do atleast once but most people do it again because they love it so much. especially princess is known for their alaska cruises and they are honestly the best.
1. meals are inlcuded on a princess cruise. there is the buffet, the main dining room, the italian restaurant [that serves pizza, salad, tiramasu, foccasia, etc], the grill on the outside deck that is all free. there is some things that the ships have that arent like the sterling steakhouse which is 15 dollars a person, which not only serves different type of steaks but also fish. [i personally dont recommend it, because the steaks are the same in the main dining room practically, but if you are going out on a date then it would be good because the atmosphere is more relaxed and quieter.]
2. on some of the princess ships the buffet is 24/7, but if not they stay open still very late... there is no limit on how much you eat or on the meals. you can go to the main dining room[ which is you order your food] and order two main courses, or maybe even three which i highly doubt because a dinner is practically a 4 course meal. haha.
++ the food on princess is A++
3. water, is included. they have orange juice and apple juice during morning hours. lemonade during lunch hours and water for dinner hours. coffee is included, unless you want those special type of fancy coffees. tea is included unless the specail teas. alcohol drinks are not included, same with drinks that are virigin [e.g. virgin margarita]. sodas are not included unfortunetly, but they do have this thing that on the beginning of the trip they sell stamps that go on your room key[ also your card for everything else] and that gives you unlimited soda. it also comes with a souveneigher cup which is great! its like 6 dollars a day.
4. the drink prices for alcohol are all different they range from 3.75 [some type of beer, a "cheap" one] to 15 dollars [i believe] the fancy drinks like margaritas, or whatever there is out there are mainly like between 6-8 dollars. virgin margaritas or virgin pina coladas, etc.. are fairly cheap i think. they are 2.75-3.5 dollars and they come in a very big generous size....
it's also good to know that they added 10.00 dollars everyday to your bill for tips [ it's somewhere in that 10 dollar range]. but its also nice if you give your room cleaner and personal waiters tips too.
princess cruises to alaska i recommend is the 10 day roundtrip san francisco.... its a reasonable price and worth every penny. its on the sea princess, great ship, btw. this is probably the best alaska cruise puts out [my opinion].
