After being ranked #4 in the first BCS standings what do you think of Boise States chances?
Realistically Florida will have to play Alabama/LSU for the SEC title so that only leaves Texas above them in the #2 spot.
Do you think Texas can win out the second half of the schedule? Remember Texas has played nothing but creampuffs and a Bradfordless Oklahoma so far and has been less then impressive.
Do you think USC can win out and leap frog them (Boise States big win is over Oregon so that game should make or break USC and Boise).
Do you think Cincinati, Iowa or TCU will win out?
All in all I would like to hear peoples opinions on were Boise State will be in the final BCS standings.
I wasn't going to answer this question, but I had to correct Tim on one point. Texas will not play Oklahoma in the Big 12 championship. They are both in the Big 12 South. They will probably end up playing a rematch against Kansas, or play Nebraska if they can beat Kansas and get their offense going.
But to answer the original question, with Alabama and Florida probably eliminating one or the other, they do have to only jump one spot, Texas. With Texas' lack luster play the first half of the season, they are on track to get beat by someone. If Texas runs the table, they will stay above Boise State though. If Texas loses, especially late in the season, I think with all of the buzz about BCS busters the last few years, and 3 being in the top 10 this week, they would jump Texas. What I would be most concerned about as a Boise St. fan, if you look at the initial BCS points, is that there are 2 teams ranked just below Boise St. that are closer in points to Boise St. than Boise St. is to Texas. Both of those teams have a stronger schedule the rest of the way. It is possible that even with a Texas loss and Boise St. winning out, that Boise St. and Texas could get jumped by Cincinnati and Iowa. I think that is one of those things that is going to come down to how far apart those teams are in the computer rankings and where that puts them in the final BCS standings. Those computers can spit out some crazy numbers.
