My pacman frog ate a piece of coconut husk?
Earlier I was feeding my pacman frog, and he accidentally ate a piece of coconut husk.... I thought he would spit it out because he started to, but then swallowed it. I'm really worried that he'll get impacted...
I've only had him for a month, so he's still pretty small.. (Well, like 1 1/2 inches). I originally had him in a tank with moss bedding, but learned that moss was unsafe for them so switched to coconut husk.. But then I read that chunks of coconut husk could kill them too? How can I know if he's impacted? Is there really anything I can do? What IS safe bedding for a pacman frog, because I'm really confused..
He'll probably be fine.
lucky for you, he's a Pacman. Since they generally eat everything in their sight, it'll be pretty easy to see if he stops eating. If he stops eating, put him in a dish of warm (not hot) water. It should stimulate him to poop.
I've seen an adult pacman swallow a nickle and manage to pass it a few days later.
Coconut husk bedding is perfect for frogs, but keep in mind that there are differences in brands. Some of the cheaper brands have larger, more dangerous chunks of coconut husk in them. Stick with EcoEarth, it almost never has large chucks of husk that could injure a baby pacman.
