Convincing parents to get parakeet?
I've done a bit of research, and decided, that would be the best bird for me, I've researched care, cost and feeding.
My Mum knows this I sent her an email with a cost/care spreadsheet, and a few sites on. She says that it would be just another animal to look after, and get someone to care for whilst we're away.
I have 2 gerbils, 2 frogs and a crab, but I really want a more interactive pet, my gerbils know me but they can't fly around, talk/sing, be my friend. I plan to become a vet, and I am 12....Help?
Also, if you would be so kind as to look at my other question it would be much appreciated.
hey im also twelve and i have Linnie parrot. he is alot of responsibility. i also have 6 parakeets. i know that you said you want the ur bird to talk but keets well umm.. they just cant. but they are exellent flyers. keets can be very nippy so you have to train them when they are young or u will be living with a pain in the butt for the next 10 years. they are good companians and very friendly once trained. sometimes when you take them home they are very mean because they dont know you yet. so u will have to put up with a few bites. but after few weeks u will be its best friend.
i also recommend that you DO NOT buy your bird from a pet store because the workers there do not socilize them. they are not bathed and even though they tell you that they are just 8 weeks old they sometimes are 6 years old!!!!! i have one of my parakeets from the pet store and he is impossible to train and hates other birds and he even hates me! as for the others i got from breeders they are very happy and sometimes even lay eggs! i really hope that this helps and just show ur mum that you really want one. if you have any other questions pls email me at lizzie10157@yahoo.com
