Disneyland and toddlers?
My husband I are planning on taking our babies to Disneyland next month. Even though our daughter is only 2 and a half years old, and she won't remember it, and there are a limited amount of rides she can go on, we don't put a price on her happiness. She has been talking about Mickey Mouse for a while now and we want to take her if nothing more than making memories, taking priceless photos, and seeing her smile ear to ear upon meeting all her favorite Disney characters. We were wondering if anyone has gone to Disneyland with their little ones and what rides they were able to enjoy and the overall experience. Please no discouraging or negative comments like it would be a waste of money (we have passes and kids under 2 are free) or she won't remember it (we plan on visiting a lot as she grows older).
I think you have the perfect attitude about going. We did the same thing when our youngest was a toddler, and we have some GREAT photos and memories.
As you enter the park, grab a schedule of activities. It lists where many characters are. Mickey and Minnie are located in Toontown, so you should head back that way upon entering. There are a number of kid-friendly rides and activities. Also, you might want to vist the Princess Fantasy Faire, where she can meet princesses.

Snow White's Scary Adventure (pretty scary for kids that young, but they still seem to like it)

Pirates of the Caribbean- You may be thinking WTF! But when ours was that age, we went on it. She said she was scared of the pirates, but guess what she sang about 1000 times: "Yo Ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me... arrgh!" She sang the arrgh EVERY time.
Definitely eat at Carnation Cafe. They have PB&J on a palette that your kid can build. This will give you 20 minutes of peace from your kid: 10 minutes to build, 10 minutes to eat.
On the California Adventure side, you should definitely go see the Playhouse Disney show. Also, visit Bug's Land. And maybe the Aladdin show. There's a scary snake scene, but if she can get past that, she should enjoy the show quite a bit. There is also an area called the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail, which is sort of like Tom Sawyer Island, where your kid can run around. There are rope bridges, crawl tubes, and slides. I used to tire my daughter out by letting her go on the slide as many times as she wanted. I just stood on the bridge right above the slides, and walked over to the stairs to make sure she got up them OK. No fear of her leaving, even if you lose her for a moment. There's only one way in and one way out, and a couple cast members keeping watch at the entrance.
