Do you think I should Transfer Universities? (Uni. Mary Washin --> Vtech)?
UMW:
-The parties are really lacking here and the social life is lame. Cops bust parties all the time too.
-Parties are kind of hard to find and you really have to look to find one.
-There will be times on weekends where theres nothing to do...so you sit in your room and dont do sh*t.
-hardly any sports teams here (no football team) and the basketball games are attended mostly by Old people.
-Classes are hard, and this school doesnt get the recognition it deserves.
-No greek life
-Small classes (you get personal attention)
-1.5 hour drive from my home
VTECH:
-Well known University!
-Its got sportsteams and a lot of school spirit and parties arent hard to find.
-Greek life
-Supposedly classes are much easier cuz the classes have hundreds of kids in them so there arent things like free response questions and such.
-quality of edu is less than UMW but this school is still more recognized
- more expensive tuition than UMW
- 4 hrs from my home via car
It all depends on what you weigh as more important. If being close to home is extremely important to you, then I wouldn't suggest changing schools. However, it seems that you're looking for a place with more greek life and sports team, in which case, going to Virginia Tech would be better.
The only thing I'm worried about is that you want the academic recognition without the same amount of work as you're doing now. I can assure you that once you get into your major, classes will probably be difficult. The best advice I can give you, if you switch, is don't expect things to get any easier. They may be more fun, but prepare to work just as hard.
Hope I helped
